Unconditional Love and the Holy Instant: Finding Deep healing

3–5 minutes

Resting in the Holy Instant

Scripture reminds us that God’s love is not bound by time or circumstance. His presence is always near, and in certain sacred moments, we become deeply aware of it. It’s as though time disappears, and all we can feel is the overwhelming embrace of His love—a love so complete, so pure, that everything else fades away.

I’ve come to think of these moments as “holy,” set apart, outside of time. They are glimpses of eternity breaking into our now. In those moments, I feel known, held, and safe. I believe this is what the psalmist meant when he wrote:

“Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere.”
Psalm 84:10

Today, entering into that space—into that holy moment—comes more easily. But it wasn’t always like that for me.

Learning to Feel Loved

If you’ve ever struggled to feel loved, I see you. I’ve been there. I didn’t grow up in an environment where love felt safe or reliable. For as long as I can remember, I carried a deep longing to feel loved—to feel chosen, protected, and seen.

When I first read about God’s love as a child, I found them beautiful, but distant. I read verses about His kindness and compassion, but I couldn’t feel them in my body. The truth is, I had to learn how to be loved. It didn’t come naturally.

Over time, God brought kind, trustworthy people into my life. These were people who didn’t try to fix me or correct me, but who simply stayed. They offered kindness when I felt raw and unlovable. Slowly, I began to believe what Scripture had declared all along:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18

Cultivating Unconditional Love

Beyond trusted, safe people, I’ve found other ways to nurture a sense of feeling unconditionally loved. Spending time in nature and with animals has been a balm for my soul, as have art and music. Occasionally, I’ve stumbled across others’ work—songs, paintings, writings—that touch me deeply and help me connect with this sense of love.

One such artist is Bart De Krijger, whom I met many years ago at a healing retreat center in Canada. At the time, he was the music pastor there. Bart has an extraordinary gift for communicating the healing, unconditional love of the Father through his lyrics and music. Healing through music has become one of the most powerful ways for me to access the Holy Instant.

I listened to one of his songs repeatedly throughout last night because the lyrics settled deeper into me than ever before. I felt the need to have them embedded into my spirit.

Here are the lyrics that moved me so profoundly:

Will I Ever Find More Love

Hold me close and draw me in
In Your arms I want to be
Never let go, keep holding on
With You, I want to be

Cause in Your arms I rest secure
Safer I can’t be
To feel Your touch, to know Your Love
Closer I can’t be

Will I ever find more love,
Find more love,
Find more love
Than I’ve found now?

Hold me close and draw me in
In Your arms I want to be
Never let go, keep holding on
With You, I want to be

I see Your face, I feel Your eyes
They’re watching over me
I lay my head against Your breast
Your love, it flows through me

The Holy Instant Through Song

The lyrics of this song beautifully express the essence of the Holy Instant. When I listen to it, I am effortlessly transported into the Holy Now, a place where all that exists is Love—pure, eternal, and healing. Overcoming childhood wounds begins with surrendering to this moment of unconditional love, allowing the Father’s heart to embrace every part of us.

A Blessing for You

I pray that today, you will find rest in the Holy Instant. May you bury yourself deeply in the Father’s heart, leaning into the only place where true healing resides. Whether through the message of a sacred text, the power of spiritual healing, or the beauty of music, may you discover the Love that transforms all things.
